Obama, Leahy Witch Hunt Will Endanger American Lives
George Soros has demanded that Obama conduct a witch hunt to:
“establish an independent, non-partisan commission to examine and report publicly on torture and cruel, inhuman, and degrading treatment of detainees in the period since September 11, 2001…. to reaffirm America ’s commitment to the Constitution, international treaty obligations, and human rights “
This witch hunt will endanger American lives, it already has. Obama has committed the high treason of releasing state secrets to our enemies, all in the guise of restoring our “reputation” in the eyes of the world community. In one fell swoop, he laid out the training regimen for the enemies that wish to see us removed from the face of the planet. All to appease a man who spent hundreds of millions of dollars to put Obama over the topin the election. Now, George Soros wants paid. He called, said jump, and Obama said “how high”.
Obama released the memos (while withholding the memos which outlined the results of using the techniques) which carefully laid out the legal opinions drawn by lawyers at the White House State Department and Defense Department that stood as the rationale for conducting the “agressive” interrogations (on five top Al Queda operatives) that were so effective that even Obama’s director of Intelligence, Admiral Dennis Blair had this to say about the interrogations:
“High value information came from interrogations in which those methods were used and provided a deeper understanding of the Al Qa’ida organization that was attacking this country,” …….“I like to think I would not have approved those methods in the past,” he wrote, “but I do not fault those who made the decisions at that time, and I will absolutely defend those who carried out the interrogations within the orders they were given.”
In addition to Blair, Leon Panetta, Obama’s current Director of the CIA and three past Directors all blasted the releaase of the memos as having done permanent, serious damage to our ability to defend the nation against terrorism.
Obama’s actions, have alerted our enemies as to which tactics are most effective. He has also told them in no uncertain terms, we will not use these techniques to gain information to avoid the next major attack. In Obama’s words, to the families of the victims of 9/11, your sons and daughters were vaporized but we will not dunk a terrorists head under water to prevent another such heinous act.
So, is waterboarding torture? Not according to U.S. Law. There were plenty of lawyers that examined that issue and they all concluded that the act itself does not fit the definition of torture under our Consitution. Still, there were very specific and very clearly drawn instructions drawn under which the interrogations were to take place. The standards were designed to ensure that the health of the detainees was not jeopardized. You can see that memo here.
Before these techniques, Khalid Sheihk Mohammed (the architect of the 9/11 attacks) had resisted all attempts to extract information with the taunt “soon you will see“. Once he was waterboarded (within 35 seconds) he revealed the plot to fly another airliner into the tallest building in Los Angeles and the 17 members of the cell charged with that mission were arrested. How many lives did this save? Do you think Mohammed has any concern for the victims of his plot?
Obama’s release of the memos and threat to “investigate” those responsible ensures that CIA opweratives will never make that one questionable effort to extract information that might save thousands of American lives. Our enemkies, knowing that Obama has been bought off by his largest contributor, will accel;erate their plans for the next spectacular attack. Why not? Obama has proven he has no spine and no allegiance to the Country he has sworn to “protect”.
So what should we do? We need to fight back against the needless, facist attack against Americans that served their country and made difficult deicisons to protect us from destruction. Once the Commission is appointed by Leahy and Obama, we need to begin a camopaign to urge the GOP members of the House and Senate to shut down the House and Senate. Use every techniques they can to stop the work of the Congress until the Commission is disbanded. At least then America, will know who cares about the survival of our great nation.
So gird yourself to get active with your representatives on this issue. Tell them to tell Obama to stop groveling at the knee of George Soros.
